CiberMed’s software products are utilized across a diverse range of disease areas and conditions, including cancer, autoimmune disease, transplantation, and reproductive health.

To further empower its rapid growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced “hands-on” Bioinformatics leader who can also cover technical support and oversee the software team.

Job Description

1. Technical Leadership: Take responsibility for all technical aspects of CiberMed’s flagship software, iSort.
2. User Consultation: Provide guidance to iSort users regarding results interpretation and effective data analysis; perform bioinformatics analysis as needed.
3. External Collaboration: Partner with external stakeholders to co-author posters, publications, and webinars.
4. Product Development: Improve and expand existing CiberMed bioinformatics products and tools. 
5. Compliance & Audit: Prepare technical documentation and Q&As for quality assurance and IT audits.
6. Team Management: Manage a software team by defining goals and timelines and monitoring overall progress.
7. Documentation: Write and manage key documents, including analysis records and leadership meeting minutes. Implement source-code management with GitHub.
8. Work closely with the CEO, Business/Marketing manager, and co-founders from Stanford University.

Qualifications

1. 5+ years of biotech industry experience in bioinformatics or data science.
2. 5+ years of experience in at least one data science-centric language (R, Matlab, or Python) and at least one programming language (C, C++, C#, or Java).
3. Expert-level knowledge in machine learning, statistics, and RNA-seq technology.
4. Strong presentation skills with the ability to convey complicated data clearly.
5. Experience with AWS; Able to select an EC2, define security groups, work with different types of storage.
6. Experience and knowledge in immunology is a significant plus.
7. A Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree for a higher position) in bioinformatics,computational biology, or a closely related field.

Option to Work Remote: Yes (Local / west coast candidates preferred)

Travel Required: 0 - 2 times a year

Schedule: Full time
